So we already know that Google has partnered with RailTel to provide fast and free Wi-Fi at railway stations in India. Taking a step further in putting India on the digital space, the Internet giant is now keen on joining hands with the government to integrate its (Unified Payment Interface) UPI and Aadhar program to the Android ecosystem. The move will enable smartphones to become an extension of people’s identity, thus letting them transact more securely.
“We’re huge fans of the Indian stack (Aadhaar and UPI), it’s transforming,” Google’s vice-president for Next Billion, Caesar Sengupta said.
